One of (if not the) best barbershops in NYC. I’ve been going here for a while now, and I always leave with an amazing haircut. All of the guys at VB are at the height of their craft. Special shoutout to Mike, who has been my go-to barber at the shop— he’s the man. Stop by VB if you’re in need of a fresh cut/shave.

Mike is a super talented barber. The first time I cut my hair with Mike I was super nervous to try a new style (curly), but he did an amazing job. My most recent cut I also wanted to try something new and I love it. I’ve gotten amazing feedback each time! Easy appointment system, very cool and vibey space, super nice guy, great prices, and most importantly a great cut!

Great barber shop! Fast, efficient... all while taking good care of you hair care needs. Mike & all the boys really take the time to understand what you want from the visit. Stop in and hang out if you have the time, great place! Very affordable for the neighborhood. Be warned they are cash only! Great spot! Update: continues to have a high bar on quality, speed and efficiency. I get both a beard trim AND haircut. Both excellent service.

Eli is great—always delivering sharp, clean cuts that exceed expectations. He’s friendly, professional, and truly cares about making sure you leave satisfied. The shop is neat and inviting, creating a great overall experience every time. I wouldn’t trust anyone else with my hair!

Went in recently, not really knowing exactly what I wanted am still trying to grow my hair but wanted to clean it up a bit. Mike talked me through what he thought and we landed on what I think is my best haircut I’ve ever had. Very personable, thoughtful and asked questions about how I like it throughout. Mike is great but could also tell all the barbers there are great. Talking, laughing with their clients. Very welcoming place and even if you don’t know exactly what you want - they’ll help you!

Having lived in NYC for over 10 years, I understand the frustration of trying to find the best barber in your neighborhood. Over the course of my 10+ years in the city, I have moved from Turtle Bay > UES > Batter Park City > Clinton Hill (BK). I can confidentally say that Vanderbilt Barber is the best barber I have ever had in NYC. Personally, Eli was my guy, but all of the gents at VB are experts in their craft. They are awesome to talk to and genuinely care about making you look your very best. Whether it is a quick stop in for a clean-up, or a full haircut + beard shave, VB will 100% take care of you, and you won't be upset with how you look walking out the door. I am going to miss VB, as I am moving out of the city, but will 100% be back anytime I an in the neighborhood. Thank you VB for the last 2 years of amazing cuts!
